I owe a great deal to my family whose hearts align with the philanthropic issues of today.

I’m privileged to have been raised by a family who felt the heartbeat of others. This exposed me to truly feel others’ pain, whether physical, spiritual or emotional.

Seeing the level of care and effort they put forth daily would forever change my view on humanity.

Countless relief trips would expose me to poverty, lack of education and health care around the world. As disaster would hit, my father would organize and dispatch relief groups.

He had a reflex-like response to need. It was a beautiful thing to see him use his strengths and talents to help in any way.

Each return trip would amaze me with countless lessons and the desire to live a life of service to humanity.
